Hope Trevor's claim that the position of lesbians and gays in the patriarchal system is analogous and interchangeable is erroneous. Although they may have the same goal, redefining sexuality, they come from different historical directions and the difference shows asymmetry. That there is a need for more dialogue among the gay men and women and the feminists is clear; however, the terms must be clarified and the dissimilarity taken into account.
