Treaty of Utrecht commemoration events

Centre for the Humanities this year has designed three commemorative conferences for the 300th anniversary of the Treaty of Utrecht: Edward Said Memorial Conference in April, "The Colonial Legacy" conference in June and "The Idea of the University" conference in September.

Commemorative events are co-designed with the Treaty of Utrecht organization, which is responsible for the general cultural programme of the commemoration and the many Utrecht University staff members who are actively involved in the Centre for the Humanities, notably the Descartes Centre and the Focus Area ‘Identities and Cultures’.
